     Abigail Birch was born on 18 May 1757 at Cattskill Mountain House, New York, USA.^1,2 Abigail Birch was the daughter of Joshua Birch and Abigail Udall. Abigail Birch married David Lawrence, son of Uriah Lawrence and Mary Clark, on 2 January 1777 at North East, Dutchess, New York, USA.¹ Abigail Birch died on 30 March 1842 at Stillwater, Saratoga, New York, USA, at age 84.^1,2
          Abigail Birch Lawrence was a daughter of Joshua and Abigail Udall Birch and the wife of David Lawrence. She named one of her sons Lionel Udall after Dr. Lionel Udall of Stonington, CT, her grandfather. (Letter of Albert Phillips of Waukesha, WI.)
     She was born at the site of the Cattskill Mountain House (in Stonington, CT??) on 18 Mar 1757. She married David Lawrence on 2 Jan 1777, and died at Stillwater, NY, on 29 Mar 1842. She was a Baptist. (Memoranda left by Judge John K. Porter.)
     She was presumably buried beside her husband, David, but in 1907 the tombstone was missing. There is a neighborhood tradition that it was destroyed many years ago when a runaway horse broke into the enclosure. (J.S. Lawrence.).¹

     The above Jonathan may have been the father of Thomas Birch of Dorchester, all of whose children were minors in 1654.
     Thomas Birch was paid four shillings in 1651 for iron work done on the meeting house. He died 3 Oct 1657. In his will, dated 6 Jun 1654, he provided for sons Joseph and Jeremiah, daughter Mary and five children not named. On 31 Jan 1664 the administrator asked that the whole estate be turned over to Joseph Birch, then 21 years of age, and for him to provide for the other children.
