3. JOHN3 ROBINSON , JR. (687) (Thomas2, Thomas1)15 was born before 1692 at Henrico, Virginia.16 He married Tabitha Jones (688), daughter of Edward Jones (1630) and Mary Field (690), circa 1712 at Henrico, Virginia. He died before 15 Apr 1768 at Cumberland, Virginia.
     John Robinson, Jr., was born in Goochland Count (now Cumberland County), Virginia in 1700. In about 1720 he married Tabitha Scruggs (the daughter of Charles Scruggs and Mary Fields). Tabitha Scruggs must have died before 1768 as she was not mentioned in the will of John Robinson. John Robinson purchased 400 acres of land near the head of Muddy Creek in Goochland County in 1738 (1,2,3,4). This property was contiguous with the land of William Bradshaw, Samuel Nichols and William Fabor (2). John Robinson later acquired 500 acres of land on Deep Creek (1). He was a member of Southam Parish, Cumberland County, from 1745-1751 (5). The will of John Robinson was dated 11 Dec 1767 and proved in Cumberland County Court on 15 Apr 1768.

     Stephen Robinson, Sr., son of Edward and Judith Robinson, was born in about 1750 in Cumberland County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Holland on 13 Jun 1774 in Louisa County, Virginia (3, 4). She was the daughter of George and Sarah Ford Holland (2). Stephen Robinson served in the Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary War (2, 3). He was shown on the tax list of Cumberland County until 1797 (3). In 1799 the family moved to Smith County, Tennessee, where they settled at Temperance Hall (3). Stephen Robinson died in 1835 in Smith County while Elizabeth Holland died in 1838. He was probably buried in a cemetary on a hill near Temperance Hall, but his grave could not be identified in this cemetary when it was visited in August 1985. Many of the graves in this cemetary lack headstones or the headstones have deteriorated greatly. Many Robinsons are buried in this cemetary, including his son, John Robinson. The will of Stephen Robinson was dated 11 Mar 1828 and was recorded on 16 Sep 1835 (7, 8). He left the house, 150 acres of land and some slaves to his wife and a total of 1, 045 acres, $1,317 and several slaves to his children and grandchildren.

     Stephen Robinson, Jr., was born in 1778. He first married Martha Meador in Smith County, Tennessee, in 1812. He secondly married Mary Lancaster (1798-1846). He died in 1846 in Jackson County, Tennessee, and was buried in the Robinson family cemetary near Liberty in DeKalb County, Tennessee (2).

     Augustin Robinson was born in Virginia on 4 Sep 1794. He moved with his parents to Smith County, Tennessee. He married Rachel Simpson on 9 Apr 1818. She was born on 18 May 1793. Smith County court records for 1820-1822 indicate that Augustin Robinson was appointed guardian for Thomas, John and Agnes Simpson, the children of James Simpson and Sally Robinson, Augustin's sister (2, 3). In 1830, Augustin Robinson was listed in the census fo Smith County, Tennessee (1). Augustin and Rachel Robinson were living in Itawamba County, Mississippi in 1838 (1). They were shown in the census listings of 1840 and 1850 in Itawamba County. Augustin and Rachel Robinson moved to Jackson Parish, Louisiana in 1861 with their son, James Simpson Robinson (9). Rachel died on 15 Sep 1865 and Augustin died on 30 Dec 1876 near Gansville in lower Jackson Parish (9). Augustin and Rachel were buried at Siloam Springs in Jackson Parish.

John Robinson was buried in the cemetary at Temperance Hall, Tennessee. His tombstone shows that he was born on 27 Jan 1798 and died on 16 Oct 1877. His wife Eliza was also buried there. She died on 21 Jan 1881.

30. JAMES SIMPSON7 ROBINSON (905) (Augustin6, Stephen5, Edward4, John3, Thomas2, Thomas1) was born on 17 Feb 1821 at Smith, Tennessee. He married Julia Ann Lawrence (906), daughter of James Lawrence (923), on 2 Apr 1846 at Itawamba, Mississippi.18 He died on 10 May 1890 at Wyatt, Jackson, Louisiana, at age 69.
     James Simpson Robinson was born on 17 Feb 1821 in Smith County, Tennessee. He moved with his family to Itawamba County, Mississippi, before or during 1838. On 2 Apr 1846 he married Julia Ann Lawrence in Itawamba County, Mississippi (10). They were shown in the census of 1850 in Itawamba County. James S. and Julia L. Robinson moved with his family in about January 1861 to Louisiana and settled in Jackson Parish just before the start of the Civil War. Josiah Robinson, the brother of James Simpson Robinson, settled in Jackson Parish before James. James Simpson Robinson later moved his family to Bienville Parish, Louisiana, and settled on the 'Old Grey Plantation' (8). The family was included in the 1880 census of Bienville Parish. The family later moved to another farm in Bienville Parish which became the property later (by homesteading) of his son John Simpson Robinson after the death of James Simpson (9). James Simpson Robinson died on 10 May 1890 and was buried in the Siloam Springs Cemetary in Jackson Parish, Louisiana (12). The cemetary is located two miles northeast of Wyatt, Louisiana (12). One proceeds toward the cemetary northeast of Wyatt on Louisiana Highway 505, then turns right after going one mile to Louisiana Highway 809. After traveling about one mile on this highway one reaches the church cemetary.

     Josiah J. Robinson, born on 28 sep 1825 in Tennessee, married Sarah E. Miller on 12 Jul 1855 in Itawamba County, MS (10). They came to Jackson Parish, Louisiana, before the start of the Civil War and homesteaded a place near Siloam Springs. He was buried in the Cold Water Church Cemetery.

     Edward Christopher Henry Clay 'Kit' Robinson, born on 23 Jun 1847, married Martha C. Shively on 18 Jan 1874 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. They homesteaded property on Shady Grove Road in Bienville Parish (8). Kit Robinson died on 27 Jan 1908. He was buried with his wife at the cemetary in Danville, Louisiana.

He married Frances Izora Mixon (1144), daughter of Obediah Zechariah Mixon (1092) and Mary Vienna Page (1114), on 12 Jan 1882 at Bienville, Louisiana. He died on 20 Jan 1916 at Danville, Bienville, Louisiana, at age 59.
     Joseph Marion Robinson, born on September 5, 1856, at Tupelo in Lee County, Mississippi (8), married Frances Izora Mixon on 12 Jan 1882 at Friendship, Bienville Parish, Louisiana (8). He was one of the original elected officials of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church when the church building was erected in 1892 (13). He died on 20 Jan 1916 and was buried in the cemetary at Danville, Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

     James Allen 'Jim' Robinson was born on 17 Nov 1858. He married Nannie S. Brister (born on 15 Oct 1864, died on 20 Apr 1948). He homesteaded land one mile southeast of Danville where he built a home, the homesite of James Durwood 'Bud' Robinson, and raised a family. He died on 17 Oct 1932 and is buried with his wife at Danville Cemetary.
